A standard gas spring works in a similar way to a push-rod system. Thanks to its wide range of variations, it can be used in many different applications such as flaps, window covers, folding beds, kitchen cabinets and similar systems where a flap needs to be lifted, held open or weight-balanced.
The product can be supplied with fitted end fittings to make installation easier. It is also possible to order the product without end fittings.
Gas springs are manufactured in different sizes and strengths according to their diameter. To ensure optimum performance, the gas spring should be installed with the piston rod pointing downwards.

The advantage of a dynamic gas spring is that it can be installed in any mounting position, including with the piston rod pointing upwards. This means damping can still be achieved even when the piston rod is not facing downwards.
The damping is created by gas transfer through a longitudinal groove inside the gas spring cylinder. This allows smoother and more controlled damping, reducing the impact on surrounding components.

Gas traction springs work in the opposite way to standard gas springs. In this type, the piston rod is pulled inwards by the gas pressure inside the cylinder.
Gas traction springs are used for heavy ramps that open towards the ground. When closing a flap, such as a horse trailer cover, motorcycle carrier cover or similar application, the gas traction spring supports the manual force required.
Gas traction springs with a valve are also available. In this version, the force can be manually reduced, but it cannot be increased again.

Lockable gas springs provide optimal weight balancing when opening, closing and positioning, depending on the user’s needs or body size.
Lockable gas springs, also known as gas pressure dampers, are designed for ergonomics and comfort. They allow seating and reclining positions to be adjusted easily, safely and precisely, making them ideal for massage chairs and similar applications.
As they are usually operated with a single lever, they are mounted along the axis of the centre of gravity.

Stainless steel gas springs meet special requirements in applications where corrosion resistance is important. They are commonly used on yachts and boats, as they are manufactured from 100% stainless steel material.
The operating principle is the same as that of a universal gas spring.

This type differs from a lockable gas spring. A lockable gas spring can be locked in any position, whereas this type can only be locked in the fully extended or fully retracted position.
Locking systems for gas springs are generally available in three different versions. Each version offers specific advantages depending on the application area and safety requirements.

In this model, a special mechanism inside the gas spring automatically activates the lock in the event of gas loss or a drop in pressure. The movement of the gas spring is stopped, providing a high level of safety.
This version is especially preferred for safety-critical applications. Even in the event of pressure loss, the gas spring remains mechanically locked in a safe position.
After the gas spring has extended, the lock is released by pressing once on the piston rod, allowing it to retract again.

In this system, the lock is manually activated by turning a component at the end of the gas spring. Thanks to its adjustable design, it offers controlled use.
It is preferred in applications where manual intervention by the operator is required. This solution is practical and user-friendly.
